i3, i5, and i7 Comparison

Hello! Our first post of this blog. We are going to compare i3, i5, and i7 since many other retrospective individuals have been confused which one is better for gaming, casual, or programming.
Let's get started!
Haswell 4th-gen chipset

Amount of Cores

All of Core i3 models have 2 core processors, ranging from 2.4 GHZ to 3.6 GHZ although thrid-party softwares like HWiNFO and DxDiag analyzes that some i3 models have 4 different core processors.

On the other hand, some of i5 models have 2 core processors, and the others have quad-core processors which ranged from 3.0 GHZ to 3.4 GHZ. These numbers mean that the power used to make the cores work perfectly via the PSU installed in the back of the computer.

Finally, the i7-infamous-for-high-end-gaming all have quad-core processors. Be advised that AMD A6 and above have up to octa-cores. But each core has smaller amount of GHZ to be delivered unto the CPU. This what makes Intel is slightly more efficient than AMD processors in terms of speed and quickness.

To sum up, i3s are ranked as consumer-grade, i5s are mil-spec grade, and i7s are finally ranked covert grade

Mainboard Supports

Intel i-Series mainly use SandyBridges and IvyBridges. i3 usually is installed on SBs on laptops, and IBs on PCs. But SB is last year. IB has faster microchip systems and supports up to 16 GB of RAM with PC-12800. We didn't say that SB did not support PC-12800 of RAM, but we recommend that you should install PC-10800 on SBs, to prevent system failure.

i5, the middle class supports all types of IBs, IBs and SBs also supports up to DDR5 2048 MB of Video Card. Much to the contrary of Intel HD Graphics 4400 or later models. Alas, both are still not good enough for intense gaming such as Watch Dogs, Far Cry 4, and COD Ghosts.

i7 totally does not support SBs, because i7 has much much much faster speed than SBs' Chipsets. Still, if you want to play some games really smoothly, you are forced to overclock the CPU until 4.0 GHZ. Of course if you want to pay your bills higher.

Other Benefits
Benefits of having an i5 processor are that they have TurboBoost systems which could came in handy at times. Alas, i3 does not have the similar feature, in contrary to their cheaper price compared to i3. As mentioned beforehand, i3s have dual-cores (even though some of the high-end i3s have Quads.) but they all have 4 threads.
That's why we don't trust Windows System Information.
Yep, Windows System Information shows us that ALL models of i3 have 4 cores.
But actually, the said i3 has only 2 cores.

FAQ : So what is the 4 slots referring to?
ANS : It is referring to the threads. Most i3s have 2 cores and 2 hyperthreads.

FAQ : What does the i7 give us?
ANS : The i7 is basically all the benefits from i3s and i5s.

Gaming Factors
Far Cry 4 gameplay

i3s and i5s mostly have identical performances for the case of gaming. But some next-gen gaming requires at least 4 cores to run smoothly, some pretty good examples are Far Cry 4 and Dragon Age : Inquisition. Still, you can run it with an i3, but we will be concerned with the lags and the bugs. Memory is also important in this case. If you're playing WATCH_DOGS with an i7 and 2 GB of RAM, it will be very laggy because open-world games need memory to render the textures.

Far Cry 3 gameplay
Another good example of open-world gaming is Far Cry 3, both i3 and i5 can run it smoothly, let alone i7. But then again, gaming graphics are determined by :
-Processors;
-Chipsets;
-RAMs;
-Video cards.

To conclude, i7 is obviously the best of all. i3 is suitable for workplace PCs and compact laptops. i5s are slightly faster and suitable for gaming and graphic designers.

i7? They're for high-end geeks and chipheads out there because their suitability for both gaming purposes and casual computer activities, not to mention programming.

We will continue to talk about processors and gaming in this blog.
